In Lilongwe, we are spearheading an innovative project focused on recycling plastic bottles into decorative materials and household products. This initiative aims to tackle the pervasive issue of plastic waste, contributing to a cleaner and more sustainable environment. By providing training to existing youth clubs, we empower over 250 youths with the skills to transform waste plastic into high-value recycled products.
These training sessions cover various techniques in recycling and product creation, enabling the youth to produce marketable items that can generate income. The project not only addresses environmental concerns but also provides economic opportunities for young people in the community. By fostering entrepreneurial skills and promoting environmental responsibility, we aim to create a sustainable model for plastic waste management and youth empowerment in Lilongwe.
